My Style

Each portrait is drawn by hand using digital tools, with expressive line work, soft shading, and a focus on capturing emotion and likeness. My style leans towards minimal, refined composition - balanced with a sense of warmth, personality, and movement through mark-making.

Colour, if selected, is applied softly and intuitively to enhance mood and energy.

Background

A simple flat colour background is included in the price. I’ll select a tone that complements the subject and helps the portrait stand out, or we can discuss what best suits the feeling you’re after.

Quote & Deposit

Once we confirm the concept, you’ll receive a final quote. A 50% deposit secures your booking in my commission queue.

The Drawing Process

I’ll begin the artwork and send a progress update at the sketch stage. One round of minor revisions is included here.

Final Approval & Delivery

Once approved, your artwork will be printed on archival fine art paper, signed, and carefully packaged. The remaining balance is due before shipping.

Reference Images & Guidelines

High-quality photos are essential for achieving the best result. Please ensure your references are clear, well lit, and reflect the expression, pose, or mood you’d like achieved. Natural lighting is preferred. If you’re unsure which photo to use, feel free to send multiple and I’ll help you select the best option.

Portraits include up to two people or pets. Additional subjects are +$100 each.

Timeframe

Please allow 3-4 weeks for completion of artwork, from the time your deposit is received. This includes time for drawing, printing, and careful packaging. If you have a specific deadline, I’ll do my best to accommodate it.

Revisions

One small revision can be made in the initial sketch stage. Additional changes may incur a fee.

Payment

A 50% deposit is required to secure your commission. The remaining balance is due upon approval of the final artwork, before printed and shipped.

Shipping

Shipping within New Zealand is included. International shipping is available at an additional cost. I package each portrait securely to ensure it arrives in perfect condition.

Cancellations & Refunds

As these are custom commissions, no refunds are available once the drawing process begins. If cancellation is requested before any work has started, your deposit will be refunded. If work has started, the deposit is retained.

Artist Rights

All rights to the artwork remain with the artist, Eve Bell-iyer. Commissioned portraits are for personal enjoyment only and may not be reproduced, resold, or used commercially without written permission.

I reserve the right to share the final artwork on my portfolio or social media unless requested otherwise.
