About my current work

As a contemporary visual artist, my work is a deeply personal exploration of both the outer world- the natural environment and people around me and the inner world of reflection and presence. Through oil paint and graphite pencil, I aim to capture the quiet beauty, complexity and depth found in everyday moments.

Oil painting allows me to create rich, immersive worlds of colour, texture and depth, while graphite drawings bring an intimate precision. Together, they form a dialogue between material, subject and emotion.

This process is more than a visual practice. It’s a form of therapy and a space for emotional expression and self reflection.

My current series- including Liquid Light, Portraits of Being, Where I Stood, Nectar and Small Joys - each explore themes of light, memory, nature and emotional connection.

Alongside my studio practice, I offer original oil portrait commissions and custom digital portraits, thoughtfully created to celebrate each person’s unique story and presence. Whether through my personal series or commission work, my goal is to create art that feels meaningful, intimate and reflective.

Where the creativity began to where I am now.

I was born and raised in the small town of Katikati, New Zealand, where the Kaimai Ranges meet the stunning beaches of the Bay of Plenty. Growing up in a multicultural home, creativity was ever-present - not only through art but also through cooking, gardening, and music. We were encourage to roam, explore, and forage, which nurtured our imagination. As the second youngest of four, I found myself searching for something uniquely mine, and for me, that was art.

In my mid-twenties, I took a leap and embarked on a three-year journey at Toi Ohomai Insitute of Technology, where I earned a Bachelor of Creative Industries with a major in visual arts, graduating in 2018.

After graduation, I spent five months living and traveling in Europe before returning to New Zealand, where the real adventure began - motherhood.

Today, I live in the beautiful beachside town of Ōhope, New Zealand, with my partner and our two daughters. My artistic practice is a blend of responses to my present surroundings and snapshots of cherished memories that hold a deep place in my mind and heart.
